DENVER – The Colorado Education Association (Colorado’s teacher union) announced their endorsement and support of Democrat candidate Cary Kennedy. This endorsement will likely be accompanied by significant fundraising and organizing resources. Kennedy is locked in a fierce primary with several other Democrats, including Congressman Jared Polis, former State Senator Michael Johnston, and Lieutenant Governor Donna Lynne, all vying for the same position and resources.

Today’s announcement comes on the heels of yesterday’s revelation that former Congressman Tom Tancredo will exit the Republican primary for Governor.

“With each day that goes by it seems like the deep divisions of Democrats become more apparent as while Republicans become more solidified,” said Kelly Maher, executive director of Compass Colorado. “This stands in stark contrast to what we’ve seen in cycles past. Ultimately, this shows the lack of leadership or clear vision from the left.”
