DENVER — Kelly Maher, executive director of Compass Colorado, released the following statement regarding President Obama’s last State of the Union Address:

“President Obama was swept into the White House on a message of unity and hope, but he is leaving our country as the divider-in-chief with only 23 percent of Americans satisfied with the direction our nation is heading.

“President Obama and Sen. Michael Bennet’s disastrous agenda has made the median household income drop, the average health care premium rise and has made our nation more vulnerable to terrorist attacks.

“Thankfully, the United States, and Colorado in particular, has the opportunity to turn the page on the Obama-Bennet legacy in November, and Compass Colorado is dedicated educating and engaging voters to ensure we can make the United States that ‘shining city on a hill’ once again.”
