House Democrats set 2014 agenda with a lack of self-awareness

DENVER (January 3, 2013) — Today, Kelly Maher, executive director of Compass Colorado released a statement on the House Democrats’ 2014 legislative agenda:

“Two of the top three priorities the House Democrats announced in their 2014 legislative preview, the economy and education, are areas where they have done the most damage in recent years. Democrats have lost all credibility in education by allowing special interests to craft Amendment 66, a billion dollar-a-year tax increase, which Coloradans decisively rejected. With Democrats in charge in the most recent legislative session, Colorado has seen an explosion in regulations and red tape that hurts businesses and the economy. Hopefully, Democrats won’t use these ‘priorities’ as a vehicle from which to increase their control over every aspect of Coloradans lives.”
