Clinton: “Thanks for the endorsement, Bill. Took you long enough.”
de Blasio: “Sorry, Hillary. I was running on C.P. time.”
“C.P. time” is a reference to “colored people time,” a deeply racist stereotype regarding the punctuality of minorities.
Senator Michael Bennet, D-CO, has endorsed Hillary Clinton, but has not addressed her involvement in Saturday’s racist skit. Compass Colorado Executive Director Kelly Maher is calling upon Sen. Bennet to clarify his position on the matter:
“Senator Bennet is one of Hillary Clinton’s loudest and proudest supporters. The people of Colorado deserve to know whether he agrees with his preferred Presidential candidate’s willingness to participate in such a blindly stupid, troublingly racist skit.”
Maher continued, “If a Republican candidate for President had been on that stage in Hillary Clinton’s stead, this would be the top news story in America. Does Senator Bennet think Hillary Clinton deserves a hall pass to make racist jokes simply because they are both Democrats? His silence to date speaks volumes.”
