Senate panel votes to require PERA to only do business with Israel friendly companies

DENVER — The Senate Finance Committee cleared a measure that would require the public employee’s retirement association (PERA) to divest from businesses that have economic prohibitions against Israel.

Kelly Maher, executive director of Compass Colorado, released the following statement hailing today’s vote:

“Most Coloradans would be shocked to learn that PERA is investing with some companies who have economic restrictions against one of our nation’s greatest allies. We are pleased that the state legislature is taking steps to strengthen our friendship with Israel.”
