FLASHBACK: Bennet said Coloradans deserve a President who will lead with a national COVID testing strategy

DENVER, CO – On Monday President Biden said his administration would have “gone harder, quicker” to distribute COVID tests if they had known Omicron was going to cause record-high rates of new infections — just after telling state governors that “there is no federal solution” to the crisis.

Biden’s acknowledgment that there is no federal solution to the pandemic is a far cry from his 2020 campaign message, and completely at odds with rhetoric at the time from politicians like Michael Bennet and John Hickenlooper.

Far from successfully implementing a “national strategy” on COVID testing, Colorado, like much of the country, now finds itself in the midst of an immense shortage because of the Biden administration’s self-admitted lack of foresight.

Like Biden, Hickenlooper’s 2020 Senate campaign also featured calls for “universal testing” which Hickenlooper said was the “key to defeating the Coronavirus.”

If you’re covering Biden’s, Bennet’s, and Hickenlooper’s prior calls to implement federal solutions to the pandemic, please consider the following quote from Compass Colorado.

By Biden and Bennet’s own standards, their COVID response has been a total failure,” said Compass Colorado Executive Director Kyle Kohli.

COVID has not been ‘shut down,’ and nationwide test shortages make it plainly obvious Biden and Bennet have failed to deliver a successful national testing strategy.”
