DENVER — This morning, Gov. John Hickenlooper, D-Colo., gave his sixth State of the State Address.  Kelly Maher, executive director of Compass Colorado, released the following statement in response to the governor:

“There’s no doubt that Colorado has one of the best economies in the nation, and thanks in large part to the constitutional measures that require the government to have a balanced budget and protects citizens from burdensome taxes. As the legislative session moves forward, it is our hope that Gov. Hickenlooper will stop trying to seek loopholes in the Taxpayers’ Bill of Rights. Instead, he must work across the aisle to build consensus to prioritize and make the tough decisions necessary to ensure our state’s fiscal solvency. Families and small business owners across the Colorado must do it everyday, so should out government.”
