Polis tries to save Governor’s face on fracking initiatives, fails
DENVER (August 4, 2014) – Today, at a joint press conference with Governor John Hicknelooper and Congressman Jared Polis, it became apparent that Polis, lacking the support needed to pass his job-killing fracking ban in November, tried to give political cover to the Governor.

“Coloradans realize Hickenlooper is coming up short in the leadership department,” said Kelly Maher, executive director of Compass Colorado.“ So as soon as Polis realized he would not be able to cross the finish line with his initiatives, he tried to create the perception the Governor actually accomplished something. Yet another commission to talk ad nauseum about maybe potentially doing something in the future that is “to be determined” isn’t actually an outcome or leadership.”
