DENVER – Today, the Colorado Foundation for Universal Healthcare (CFUH) sent out a newsletter update recapping their weekend conference in Denver, in which Congressman and gubernatorial candidate Jared Polis was prominently featured as the keynote speaker.

CFUH is best known for their campaign arm – ColoradoCareYes – and their roundly criticized creation of Amendment 69, a failed 2016 initiative to create a single-payer health care system to Colorado.  The initiative failed by an 80-20 margin, with both Democrats and Republicans overwhelmingly refusing the radical proposal.  Only 1 out of every 5 voters supported the initiative because it was poorly written and represented a complete government takeover of our healthcare system.

“Voters can tell what’s important to the people they’re interviewing for the position of Governor based on where the candidates spend their time and energy right now,” said Kelly Maher, executive director of Compass Colorado. “Jared Polis is lending his credibility and his ear to those responsible for the worst healthcare scheme proposal in recent history. That he is choosing to run with a small, extreme group of progressives, on an idea that was utterly rejected by Coloradans speaks to how radical he is on the issue.”
